Support Hawai'i History Day

Each year Hawaiʻi History Day engages hundreds of middle and high school students and teachers from nearly 40 public, private, charter and home schools across the state.

We invite you to be a part of bringing the program to more schools on Oʻahu, Maui, Hawaiʻi, Kauaʻi and Molokaʻi; providing free curriculum and workshops to teachers; organizing district and state fairs; and furnishing travel scholarships for students to participate at state and national fairs.

Ways to Give

Hawaiʻi History Day is program of the Hawaiʻi Council for the Humanities, a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation and supported through private donations and grants, as well as by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our federal tax identification number is 99-0153704. Questions? Contact Michele Mitsumori, Director of Community Partnerships, at [email protected] or (808) 732-5402.

Other Ways to Support

STUDENT PROJECT SHOWCASE COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES
Help share the stories our students have researched and created by inviting them to exhibit and present at your organization or event. Students have shared their ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi projects at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian's Indigenous Language Showcase, “In Language There Is Life: I ka ‘ōlelo nō ke ola," and their documentaries in both languages as part of Hawaiʻi Ponoʻī Coalition's Hawaiian History Month.
